Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Classes

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling-based martial art whose central theme revolves around controlling a resisting opponent in ways that force him/her to submit through joint locks and chokes. Much of the technique of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training is centred around the skill of taking an opponent down to the ground and wrestling for dominant control positions from where the opponent can be rendered harmless.

LET’S DO THIS! GET THERE 10 MINUTES BEFORE CLASS TO MEET YOUR TRAINER. WE’LL CHECK YOU IN, GET YOU SORTED, AND WALK YOU THROUGH WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR JIU-JITSU CLASSES AT PERTH’S PREMIER BJJ GYM.

The first 5 to 10 minutes of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes will be exercises that release muscles to increase the range of motion, and also provide natural body lubrification to the joints.

Technique and drills of the day during Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training are demonstrated and explained, they then will be worked for 20 to 30 minutes. Drills and techniques are based on the practical situations explained by your professor or instructor.

At the end of your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) class or personal training session, you will be able to ask your professor or instructor questions related to the drills and techniques worked on.

This is the opportunity to put in practice all the drills and techniques you have been working on. *(There is no sparring for beginners)

The warm-up is designed to increase the body’s core temperature and prepare your body to handle the intensity of the workout

The workout has been prepared to get your heart pumping to reach a high-intensity level, as well as to work out your muscles. This way you get the best results from a session in a safe environment.

Time to bring the heart and respiratory rate back to normal levels, regain mental acuity and congratulate each training team member.
